DECATUR – East Central Community College fell in straight sets to undefeated Jones College, 25-6, 25-14, 25-21, in MACCC volleyball action Wednesday night.

The Warriors struggled to find rhythm early but battled in the third set before the Bobcats closed out the sweep.

Cecilia Hikari-Hosaka led ECCC with six kills, while Ainslee Copeland added six kills and five digs. Dixie Nance provided a spark off the bench with three kills in limited action. Setter Anna Wojtczak handed out 14 assists and recorded seven digs, and libero Emily Truan paced the defense with 17 digs.

East Central finished with 22 kills, 37 digs, and one service ace.

The Warriors move to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play. ECCC returns to action Monday, Sept. 15, when they travel to Poplarville to take on the Pearl River Wildcats.
