East Central Community College freshman libero Emily Truan has been named the MACCC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Truan was a standout on the back line for the Lady Warriors, totaling 50 digs across seven sets in a 2–0 week for East Central. She averaged an impressive 7.14 digs per set.

The Round Rock, Texas native recorded 28 digs and three assists in a four-set win at Northeast Mississippi before adding 22 digs and three assists in a straight-set sweep of Pearl River. Her consistency and leadership in serve-receive helped anchor an East Central defense that held opponents to just one set win for the week.

The honor marks Truan's second conference award of the season.
