SENATOBIA, Miss. — East Central Community College battled on the road Wednesday night but fell to Northwest Mississippi Community College, 60-47.
Ranyha Pruitt led the Lady Warriors with 16 points, knocking down two 3-pointers while playing all 40 minutes. Charity Beemon added eight points and a game-high 16 rebounds as East Central controlled the glass, 52-39.
East Central trailed 13-9 after the first quarter but responded with a strong second period to take a 28-27 lead into halftime. The Rangers used a 16-point third quarter to regain control and closed the game with a 17-9 edge in the fourth.
The Lady Warriors shot 30 percent from the field and went 5 of 14 from 3-point range. Turnovers proved costly, as East Central committed 29 compared to 14 for Northwest.
