DECATUR, Miss. – East Central Community College linebacker Keoni Denny has been selected as the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Denny, a redshirt sophomore from Riverview, Fla., anchored the Warrior defense in a 37-27 comeback victory at Pearl River. He posted a game-high 16 total tackles, including 11 solo stops, and added a tackle for loss. Denny also forced a fumble and recovered another as East Central's defense shut out the Wildcats over the final 20 minutes to secure the road win.

His performance marked one of the most dominant defensive outings in the MACCC this season and played a pivotal role in helping the Warriors erase an early 20-0 deficit.
