ENID, Okla. — East Central Community College battled back multiple times Sunday night, but Pasco-Hernando State College scored in the bottom of the ninth inning to hand the Warriors a 14-13 loss in the NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
The loss moved East Central into the elimination bracket, where the Warriors will face Parkland College on Monday at 7 p.m.
East Central fell to 47-14 overall despite collecting 16 hits and overcoming multiple deficits throughout the night.
The Warriors jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning when Jackson White delivered a two-run single to score Ryan Nelson and Mason Hickman.
Pasco-Hernando answered with a six-run second inning before East Central stormed back in the third. Pablo Roque drove in a run with a double before Xavier Myles tied the game with a three-run home run to make it 6-6.
The Bobcats pushed back ahead 8-6 in the bottom half of the inning, but the Warriors responded again in the fourth. Briceton Johnson delivered a two-run double before White added an RBI groundout to give East Central a 9-8 lead.
Pasco-Hernando regained momentum with single runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to move ahead 11-9.
East Central answered in the seventh inning when Jacob Wooten drove in a run with a single before Ryan Nelson added an RBI groundout to tie the game at 11-11.
The Warriors reclaimed the lead in the eighth after Roque launched a go-ahead solo home run and Kayden Peoples added an RBI groundout to make it 13-11.
Pasco-Hernando tied the game in the bottom of the eighth before Eduardo Morales delivered the game-winning RBI single in the ninth inning.
Hickman led the Warriors offensively with four hits and three runs scored, while Roque finished with three hits and two RBIs. Myles drove in three runs, White added three RBIs and Johnson finished with two RBIs in the loss.
