ELLISVILLE — East Central Community College turned Sunday's matchup into an offensive showcase, erupting for 27 runs in a 27–6 win over Jones College in a seven-inning contest.

The Warriors wasted no time taking control. East Central scored twice in the first inning, added another run in the second and then broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning. By the end of the afternoon, the Warriors had scored in six of seven innings and kept constant pressure on Jones from the first pitch to the final out.

Shortstop Mason Hickman helped set the tone at the top of the lineup, finishing with two hits, four runs scored, two RBIs, a triple and a stolen base. Hickman consistently ignited rallies and created traffic on the bases.

First baseman Xavier Myles turned in one of the biggest days at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs. Center fielder Brant Melancon delivered the most damage in run-producing situations, finishing 3-for-4 with a team-high five RBIs.

Designated hitter DeMarkez West added to the power surge with a home run, a double, three RBIs and four runs scored. Second baseman Jacob Wooten also went deep and drove in four runs, while Will Williams provided a spark off the bench with a home run and four RBIs in limited at-bats.

East Central's approach at the plate was relentless. The Warriors piled up 18 hits, including four doubles, a triple and three home runs, while also drawing nine walks. Nearly every inning featured runners in scoring position and timely hits that prevented Jones from ever gaining momentum.

On the mound, right-hander Trae Winn earned the win after tossing four innings and allowing just two runs while striking out six. Winn worked around early baserunners and limited Jones' opportunities to build any rhythm.

Left-hander Landon Moore followed with two innings of relief, allowing three runs while preserving the comfortable lead. Ethan Burton closed out the final inning to secure the victory.

Jones pushed across six runs, including a pair in the third inning and late runs in the sixth and seventh, but East Central answered each time with big innings of its own.

Defensively, the Warriors were steady behind their pitchers, committing just one error in the seven-inning contest.

By the final out, East Central had sent 46 batters to the plate and driven in 27 runs in a complete team effort that showcased the depth, power and patience throughout the lineup.
