Warriors Fall in Semifinals, Cap Historic Season with Back-to-Back Third-Place Finishes

The Warriors' historic 2025 campaign came to a close Friday with a 10-0 loss to Pearl River Community College in the NJCAA Division II World Series semifinals, marking East Central's second consecutive third-place national finish.

Despite the defeat, the Warriors once again etched their names into the record books. The 2025 sophomore class exits with 101 victories—more than any class in program history—and consecutive World Series appearances to their credit.

Pearl River (53-9) jumped ahead early and never looked back, scoring in each of the second through fifth innings to build an insurmountable lead.

The Warriors (46-16) managed two hits—one each from Eli Smith and Pablo Roque—against Pearl River's KK Clark, who went the distance on the mound in the abbreviated game. Clark struck out seven and walked four over five innings.

On the mound, East Central used seven pitchers in an effort to contain the Wildcats, with Chris Bilingsley (9-4) taking the loss after allowing five runs (three earned) over 2.2 innings. Pearl River's offensive patience and timely hitting resulted in 10 runs scored—eight of them earned—while East Central committed the game's lone error.

The Warriors have once again proved themselves among the nation's elite in the DII JUCO ranks With a 46-win season, a return trip to Enid, and a core of players that delivered two of the best seasons in school history, the 2025 East Central squad will be remembered as one of the most successful teams to wear the black and gold.
