ECCC Promotes Brooks Warren to Director of Athletics

East Central Community College has named Brooks Warren as its new Athletic Director, effective July 1.

"I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as Athletic Director at East Central Community College," said Warren. "East Central has played such an important role in my life, both as a student-athlete and as an administrator. I appreciate the confidence that our college leadership has placed in me, and I look forward to continuing to build on the strong tradition of Warrior Athletics while providing the best possible experience for our student-athletes, coaches, and fans."

A familiar face to the Warrior family, Warren has served as East Central's Assistant Director of Athletics since July 2024. During his tenure, he has helped oversee the day-to-day and game-day operations of Warrior Athletics while working closely with coaches, student-athletes, and campus administration. He has also led the department's corporate sponsorship initiatives, cultivating partnerships with local and regional businesses while assisting coaches in building meaningful relationships with supporters to strengthen each program's fundraising and community engagement efforts. His leadership and commitment to the continued growth of Warrior Athletics have helped position the department for future success. He now assumes leadership of the department as Athletic Director.

Warren was an All-MACCC pitcher at East Central Community College, where he was named the team's Co-Pitcher of the Year. He also earned a spot on the NJCAA National Baseball Team, which competed at the NBC World Series. Following his sophomore season, Warren was selected by the New York Mets in the 20th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.

He continued his collegiate career at Southern Miss before finishing at Mississippi College, where he earned recognition on the Gulf South Conference All-Academic Honor Roll.

After completing his education, Warren returned to East Central as a graduate assistant athletic director and assistant softball coach. He later served as an athletic academic advisor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before returning to Decatur in 2024 as Assistant Director of Athletics.

Warren earned his associate degree from East Central before completing a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a master's degree in intercollegiate athletic administration at Mississippi College.
