DECATUR, Miss. — East Central Community College student-athletes continued to demonstrate excellence in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year as 139 Warriors and Lady Warriors earned Academic All-MACCC recognition from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference. The conference recognized 54 ECCC student-athletes as Distinguished Academic All-MACCC selections for maintaining a grade-point average of 3.80 or higher, while 85 additional student-athletes garnered Academic All-MACCC honors with GPAs ranging from 3.25 to 3.79.
The academic achievement was spread across every corner of the Warriors and Lady Warriors athletic department. Football led all programs with 30 honorees, followed by baseball with 27. Softball and women's soccer each placed 14 student-athletes on the all-academic list, while men's soccer produced 13 honorees. Women's volleyball added 12 selections, cheerleading earned 11, and every other ECCC athletic program was represented.
A total of 23 East Central student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 GPAs. Those student-athletes represented baseball, cheerleading, football, men's soccer, softball, women's basketball, women's soccer and women's tennis, highlighting the college's commitment to academic success across all sports programs.
The Academic All-MACCC program recognizes student-athletes who excel in the classroom while competing at the collegiate level. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC recipients must achieve a GPA of at least 3.80, while Academic All-MACCC selections must maintain a GPA between 3.25 and 3.79 and meet conference participation requirements.
BASEBALL
The Warrior baseball program placed 27 student-athletes on the Academic All-MACCC teams. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC honorees included Davin Lowery, Luke Schnoor, Landry Winter, Luke Williams, Jack Bradberry, Kaden Padgett, Jackson Clark, Mason Hickman, Brannon Hill and Cade Morrow. Academic All-MACCC selections were Montravious Winn, Ryan Hardin, Sawyer Bates, Toby Thornhill, Wyatt Ford, Jackson White, Kayden Peoples, Ryan Nelson, Brant Melancon, Ty Derrick, Will Williams, Landon Willis, Landon Moore, Nelson Haas, Pablo Roque, Andrew Nielsen and Jacob Wooten.
CHEERLEADING
The ECCC cheerleading squad had 11 honorees. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC recipients were Karlee Barrett, Rey-Jean Lampley, Cemorya Tatum, Addison Bowman and Kylee Holifield. Academic All-MACCC honorees included Maury Ann Walley, Ava Smith, Leonor Jimenez, Katelyn Simpson, Jordan Porter and Natalie Wallis.
FOOTBALL
The Warrior football program produced the highest number of academic honorees with 30 selections. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC recipients were Tyler Arrington, Collier Mangum, Caden Thompkins, Brayden Walsh, Jalen Anderson, Caleb Johnson, Terry Patton, Fabian Kimbrough and Kailand Stewart. Academic All-MACCC selections included Gavin Reynolds, Elijah Glover, Kameron Herring, Radarron Leech, Brodie Ben, Jonathan Nelson, Kristian Dillard, Wildrekus Johnson, Beau Deville, Xavier Pryor, Elgin McDuffey, Barrion Posey, Aaron Lee, Deontrius Hye, John Warriner, Jalyas Winters, Rabe' Crosby, Jaquel Dukes, Freddie Gavin, Earl Tillman and Hayden Jackson.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
William Brunini and Cameron Lee both earned Academic All-MACCC honors.
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Michael Salvador represented the Warrior cross country program on the Academic All-MACCC team.
MEN'S GOLF
The Warrior golf team saw Jackson Gore and Taite Edwards earn Distinguished Academic All-MACCC honors. Baylor Hinton, Samuel Arthur and Matthew Bennett received Academic All-MACCC recognition.
MEN'S SOCCER
The Warrior soccer program placed 13 student-athletes on the academic list. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC honors went to Jack Tungett, Daniel Ducculi, Andrew Sawyer and Jonathan Gant. Academic All-MACCC honorees included Randy Garibay Martinez, Malcom Price, Jose Rubio, William Shoemake, Juan Jose Solano, Adriano Moron, Brandon Grimaldo, Michael Lismore and Joshua Knowles.
MEN'S TENNIS
Noah Agent earned Distinguished Academic All-MACCC recognition. Seth Gipson and Thomas Sumrall were named Academic All-MACCC selections.
SOFTBALL
The Lady Warrior softball program produced 14 academic honorees. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC selections included Riley Ruple, Neely Wolverton, Lynley Blackwell, Maleigh Lemings, Lyric Lay and Ava Mosley. Academic All-MACCC recipients were Lynleigh Burt, Barcley Martinez, Brette Loftin, Madelyn Fielder, Madelynn Bath, Karley Ferrington, Rylei Pickerell, Lanayah Henry and Tavia Archie.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Miriam Lewis earned Distinguished Academic All-MACCC honors, while Jakaylin York, Raiyleigh Perry and Ranyha Pruitt received Academic All-MACCC recognition.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Lady Warrior soccer team placed 14 student-athletes on the all-academic squad. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC honorees were Mary Druey, Ella Elliott, Lilli Cumberland, Megan Miller, Ella Adams, Reagan Hayes, Haley Graham, Sara Blaine and Kaitlyn Duff. Academic All-MACCC selections included Jaci Willis, Laci Donner, Raiyleigh Perry, Isabella Rivino and Priscila Ventura-Cruz.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Women's volleyball recorded 12 academic honorees. Distinguished Academic All-MACCC recipients included Marlee Brannan, Cecelia Hosaka, Addison Hyde, Landry Franks, Dixie Nance and Anna Wojtczak. Academic All-MACCC selections were Addison Vaughn, Natalie Aplin, Ava Drake, Ainslee Copeland, Emily Truan and Rylei Pickerell.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
Ivanna De Gregorio earned Distinguished Academic All-MACCC honors. Isabella Estrada Avila and Samantha Boykin were recognized as Academic All-MACCC selections.
The 139 total Academic All-MACCC selections underscore ECCC's continued commitment to excellence in both athletics and academics. From the classroom to competition, Warrior and Lady Warrior student-athletes demonstrated that success extends far beyond the playing field, court, and course during the 2025-26 academic year.
